About Me

My Photo
Barbara
I read a lot.... novels, internet, soup cans. This blog has evolved into a rambling collection of my thoughts and reflections on life, and quotes or links to other articles and blogs I enjoy. Also, as a boomer, living alone, in an apartment, with my cat -- does it get any more cliche than that - my taste in fashion and decorating may seem a little quirky but bear with me... I put away the tie-dyed last week.

I have loved Maxine since long before I started to look like her. I love her gruff old lady sayings.

There are some people who do think that when you get older you can say whatever you want.

Well, that's not really true. Whether you're young or old, you really should try to be pleasant.

But that doesn't mean that you can't think like Maxine...

So next time you have the wise-cracking, smart-ass comment on the tip of your tongue ...

Just close your eyes and let a cartoon of Maxine responding to the situation run through your mind.

Uh huh. I heard you laughing. It works.
